Phenibut, an introduction…

Phenibut is a compound that passes through the blood-brain barrier by binding to the GABA receptors in your brain.  Anything that binds to GABA (such as alcohol and benzo anxiety medications) decreases the person’s anxiety, brings a sense of calm, increases their mood, and (in high amounts) can make it easier to fall asleep.

Without a doubt, Phenibut is my favorite, little, anxiety-reducing supplement.

I started taking it about 8 months ago.  I bought my first batch from Samurai Herbals

When I heard about the many benefits of Phenibut, I decided to give it a shot.

I was not disappointed.

The main reason I needed it was because I always had feelings of general anxiety and I always felt nervous when talking to girls.

Phenibut is a great product and I still use it every week.

Even if you don’t have general anxiety, it’s still a fantastic product that I highly recommend.

The full list of benefits are…

  • Decreasing anxiety
  • Easier to fall asleep and you get better quality sleep
  • Reduces tension and stress in your body and mind
  • Elevates your mood & increased gregariousness

I’ll show you some examples from my own life on how it’s helped me…

1.  Decreases / Lowers Anxiety

  • When I have to give a presentation at school or work, I do get nervous.  Not super, crazy nervous, but I’m anxious about it.  Taking Phenibut calms me down and brings a smile to my face.  It is kinda funny to do the presentation, being in a good mood, and other presenters are all nervous.  I always get a little kick out of that.

  • When I have to meet a girl for a first date or are going out to meet girls, I get nervous with that too.  The anticipation always kills me.  For meeting random girls, usually chatting with the first couple girls makes me nervous, after which, I’m fine.  Taking Phenibut about an hour or a half-hour before I have to go out, brings my mood back to a calm level.  This usually means the first few girls I chat with don’t make me nervous either.  If I am nervous, it’s nowhere near as nervous as I would be if I hadn’t used Phenibut.

  • Usually before I leave for work most mornings, I’m usually a little nervous.  It’s so weird.  LOL!  I have this strange feeling of, “Am I forgetting something?  Do I look alright today?  Am I going to be late?” and other random, strange, nervous thoughts.  Many of my friends do notice my little nervous ticks sometimes.  However, by taking Phenibut I’d say about 80% to 90% of these nervous thoughts just disappear.  It’s kinda strange because I’m so used to being nervous before leaving for work that now, I get in the car, ready to go, and I don’t have any nervous thoughts about the day.  I’m just, “Hey… I’m good.  Everything’s going fine.  Time for work” and then I go.  No nervous thoughts at all basically.

2.  Easier to Fall Asleep & Better Quality Sleep

  • If you take a normal dosage (1 gram) of Phenibut in the morning, go through your day, then sleep that night, you’ll fall asleep faster, sleep more soundly, and then wake up refreshed.  Sometimes, the most enjoyable part of taking Phenibut is the quality of sleep you’ll get off it.  I just know that when I take a little Phenibut, the next day will be just as good as this moment because I’ll get such a good quality sleep from taking it.

  • If you take a higher dosage (2 grams at once), it won’t be long before you feel drowsy and go off to a good sleep.  This is good if you typically suffer from insomnia and can’t sleep.  Take this about an hour before you go to bed, and you’ll sleep very well.

3.  Reduce Tension & Stress in the Body

  • One thing I noticed with Phenibut is that after an hour after I’ve taken it, I feel very light and easy.  The tension has been lifted off me.  Particularly, I feel a large amount of tension relieved from my shoulder, neck, and arms.  I feel very relaxed and at ease physically.

  • Sometimes before a big event (such as when I moved to Japan) or a smaller one (when I have a meeting), I get nervous and tense.  After taking a little Phenibut, I feel very relaxed.  My shoulders feel lighter and I feel much better.  I go into the situation with a smile on my face, feeling calm and ready.

4.  Elevates Your Mood & Increases gregariousness

  • Not only is the tension and stress relieved from my body, but my mood is now lifted as well.  I feel happy, joyous, more prone to laughing and smiling, and overall, just feeling like I’m in a great mood.  Yes, if I’m going through a tough period, I may still feel a little unhappy, but by taking Phenibut, my bad days are now only not-so-bad days.  It’s certainly better than not taking Phenibut.

  • I also noticed that I am more gregarious.  I’m talkative. I’m laughing.  I’m making jokes.  I’m talking to more people – both friends and strangers.  Since I’m introverted, it can be tough for me to start talking. But by taking a little Phenibut, my interest in chatting increases quite significantly.  When I’m going out to meet new girls, taking a little Phenibut about an hour before really helps me.  I noticed I’m happily chatting up more girls around me and since I’m having a good time, they too are having a good time.  We’re all just having some fun together.  It’s much easier to chat with new girls and before I know it, the girl and I are back in my hotel room.

5.  Miscellaneous Benefits

These are benefits that myself and other people do feel, but since (to me) they are not as pronounced as the other previous 4 benefits, I decided to lump them in into this #5 category here.  These are the more debatable benefits.  For example, I know some people who think that music sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better on Phenibut.  I don’t see much of a difference.  But hey, to each his own.

  • Music sounds much better (My opinion:  +5% to +15% increase)

  • Increase in alertness (My opinion:  +10% increase)

  • Improved memory retention (My opinion:  +8% increase)

  • Increase in sexual pleasure (My opinion:  +8% increase)

  • Enhances motivation and drive (My opinion:  +5% increase)

How to Take it…

  • Take 1 gram when you wake up.
    • Some say take it on an empty stomach.  I say, I don’t really see a difference either way.  Try it both ways and see how you feel.

  • (OPTIONAL)  If you’re not feeling it, then after 2 or 3 hours, consider taking just 1 gram or just a half a gram more of Phenibut

  • (OPTIONAL)  If you still need more, then after another 3 hours past that, consider taking just 1 gram or just a half a gram more of Phenibut

NOTE:  I only take 1 gram when I wake up and it lasts me the whole day.  Phenibut has a long half-life, and I still feel it well into the next day too.  If you’re different and it takes you little bit more, that’s fine.

If you want to sleep, just take 2 grams in a quick dose.  It’ll help put you to sleep.

  • Ways to take it…
    • Mix the Phenibut into a cup of water, stir well, drink it down.  This is my method.  FYI, it doesn’t taste good.
    • Mix it with your coffee or tea
    • Mix it with soda or an energy drink
      • If you’re prone to getting caffeine jitters like I do, then Phenibut should help to minimize that.
    • Put the Phenibut right onto your tongue and then gulp down a ton of water.  (Yuck!  LOL!)

Warnings with Phenibut…  (very important)

  • Do not combine with sedatives, opoids, benzodiazepines (benzos), and/or alcohol (Because it significantly amplifies those effects)

  • Excessive consumption may also cause drowsiness and may impair your ability to drive and operate machinery

  • Do not take if you are under 18.

  • Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing.

  • Tolerance with Phenibut builds really fast.  Keep track of when you last took it…
    • Never consume more than 4 grams of Phenibut per week
    • Never consume it 3 or more days a week (only 1 or 2 days is good)
      • It has a long, long half-life, so don’t worry.  The effects will very likely carry on into the next day.
      • Consuming significantly way too much and/or consuming it too often will increase your anxiety and depression.

  • If you know that GABA-stimulating medicines (like Xanax or Valium) don’t work on you, then Phenibut likely won’t do much either.

  • If you take prescription medications, check with your doctor to see whether taking Phenibut will conflict with those medicines.

Extra Information…

In Summary…

Phenibut is my favorite anxiety reducer.  It also works very well on increasing my mood and helping me to get a good night’s sleep.  I highly recommend this product.  Just make sure you don’t take too much of it or take it too often.  As long as you’re aware of that, you can enjoy all the many benefits of Phenibut without any of the downsides.

Plus, Phenibut is super cheap and lasts you a very long time.

If you’re interested in increasing your mood, having a better quality sleep, being more sociable around people (new girls included), and lowering any feelings of anxiety, then without a doubt, I fully recommend Phenibut.

Where to Buy…

I usually buy my Phenibut from Samurai Herbals

I have tried Phenibut from several sources and in my opinion they have the purest one.
